Deaths in Central Russia in Major Ukrainian Attack

In one of the largest Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian territory since the war began nearly four and a half years ago, at least six people were killed in central Russia, according to Russian authorities. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that 571 drones were intercepted overnight across more than ten regions, including over the annexed Crimean peninsula and the Black and Azov Seas. Ukrainian forces also struck logistics hubs belonging to the online retailer Wildberries in the Krasnodar, Stavropol, and Saint Petersburg regions, causing fires and damage. In response, Russian attacks on Ukraine killed at least eleven people, including strikes on the port of Mykolaiv that hit two ships and caused casualties. The scale of the drone barrage marks a significant escalation in the conflict, with both sides continuing to target infrastructure and logistics centers.
