Montenegro Maintains Extradition Request for Marović

Montenegrin Minister of Justice Božović stated in an interview with Pobjeda that the state has not abandoned its request for the extradition of Marović, a figure linked to organized crime and corruption. He acknowledged that the fight against organized crime and corruption has partially exceeded the capacities of the judiciary, which was not prepared for this challenge. Božović also admitted shortcomings in legislation but emphasized that significant progress has been made recently in stabilizing the system, with undeniable results. He highlighted that healthy foundations have been laid and that work must continue in personnel, normative, and infrastructural areas. The minister expressed confidence that Montenegro is on the right path.
